Answer 1

Answer:

The most influenced part of the world from the internet would have to be how we socialize.

Humans don't socialize the same anymore, we have people talking to someone next to them, through their phone. Instead of just physically talking to them they would rather just type on a device as it is easier. The internet has made people more socially awkward than ever.

There are so many people that simply don't talk to anyone now, they have little to no friends and they don't participate in physical activities. They are very introverted and have high levels of anxiety and depression. It's gotten to the point where more people are online than in the real world.

It's also gotten to the point where phones and other devices have been banned in places of work and in schools, as they cause distraction for employees and students. The average attention span has dropped so far that conversations over 5 minutes are viewed as "long, and dragged on."

The internet is an amazing thing and greatly influential, but it has also caused great downward growth for the new generations to come.

What figurative language can be found in the lyrics of Hey Brother by Avicii?

Answers

An example of a figurative language in the song "Hey Brother" by Avicii is metonymy when the composer uses the words "water" and "blood," as seen below.

What is metonymy?

The type of figurative language named metonymy occurs when we associate two different words and use one in the place of the other. That is what we have in the following line of Avicii's song "Hey Brother":

"Know that water's sweet, but blood is thicker"

The metonymy consists of the use of "water" and "blood" in the place of "friends" and "family." We know the association is quite a common one, and there is actually a saying in English that is known for using this metonymy:

Blood is thicker than water.

We think of sharing our blood with our family because we share the same genetic traits with them. Water, on the other hand, is associated with those who are not family, who do not share our "blood."

Therefore, the metonymy above represents a type of figurative language in the song.

Minimum 4 sentences.

Answers

The major Man vs. Self conflict in The Red Badge of Courage is between Henry and his cowardice. Throughout the novel, Henry is constantly doubting himself and his ability to fight in battle. He is afraid of being seen as a coward by his fellow soldiers and of dying in battle. This conflict is tested when Henry finally goes into battle and faces his fears. He reacts by fighting bravely and proving to himself that he is not a coward.

The Red Badge of Courage:
American novelist Stephen Crane wrote a war book titled The Red Badge of Courage (1871–1900). The drama, which takes place during the American Civil War, centres on Henry Fleming, a young Union Army soldier, who flees the scene of combat. He is so overcome with humiliation that all he wants is a scar, a "red badge of courage," to make up for his cowardice. Henry serves as the flag-bearer who carries the American Flag when his battalion once more faces the enemy.

The book is renowned for its realism and naturalism despite the fact that Crane was born after the war and had not at the time personally witnessed fighting.

Most of us probably don't think much about doing so. We may even talk on the phone with friends or family members several times a day. But pretend for a moment that you are a soldier in the military. You have been sent overseas for several months, away from all of your family and friends, in order to serve your country. You might imagine that the ability to call home and talk with your loved ones would be something to look forward to. But what if those phone calls left you with a $7,600 phone bill? When 14-year-old Brittany Bergquist and her 12-year-old brother Robbie, of Norwell, Massachusetts, saw a news story about a soldier who found himself with just this problem, they decided to help. Robbie recalls, "We were taken aback and wanted to make sure he didn't have to pay that cell phone bill!" They began by raising money. Brittany and Robbie donated 14 dollars of their own savings and collected seven dollars from friends. A local bank heard about what they were doing and donated $500. But $521 was nowhere near the amount needed to help the soldier pay his bill. So Brittany decided to send donated cell phones to the soldiers. This way, they would have their own phone to use when calling home, which would be less expensive. Brittany and Robbie collected as many old cell phones as they could. But there was a problem. Because of security concerns, the Pentagon would not allow phones to be sent overseas. Brittany and Robbie were determined, so they came up with another idea. They found a cell phone recycler in Michigan who would pay them five dollars for each phone they sent in to be recycled. Using that money, they could buy pre-paid phone cards to send to the troops. It didn't take long for the Cell Phones for Soldiers program to take off. Today, there are over seven thousand locations to drop off your old cell phone. The program has recycled over ten million phones since it was started in 2004. Over 180 million minutes of talk time have been given to the soldiers, and each week, about twelve thousand calling cards are sent. The Bergquist family still runs the program largely on their own. Brittany says that her involvement with the charity has helped her learn how to build awareness for a cause, and form relationships with companies that can help. Although she admits that she gets nervous when she has to do something that is out of her comfort zone, she has learned that it is important to overcome her fear so that her charity can continue to grow. She says founding Cell Phones for Soldiers "... has been the most positive and motivating experience of my life..." and that, "It's unbelievable and overwhelming to know that we've been able to help out families that we're never going to see; that we've had an impact on their lives." please compare and contrast it thanks Had Britain taken over lands more than Germany in WW1?
